Sustainable & traditional methods of construction

There's no doubt that the construction industry has a major impact on the environment. New homes are built as fast and cheaply as possible to maximise profits. We have all heard of and seen the state of some of these newly built homes; they simply aren't built to last. It's likely that they'll be knocked down and rebuilt at the end of their lifespan, as it simply wouldn't be worth the cost of maintaining them.

Traditional building methods have stood the test of time. We are surrounded by old buildings that, if maintained, will last far longer. Most of these buildings are far more impressive to look at than anything built today.

It's acceptable for a modern building to have a life expectancy of less than 100 years; a new building is deemed acceptable if it's expected to last at least 60 years. We have worked on buildings over 300 years old. There are people in the UK who live in homes built in mediaeval times.

By building new homes with traditional methods, we can really build future-proof homes that will last and perform well for hundreds of years.
